Luke’s Story

Site created on August 26, 2021

In the middle of August 2021, Luke started feeling very tired. He spiked a fever to 102F so, of course we suspected Covid.  His swab was negative, so we just thought it was a random virus. He continued to have symptoms so we went to see our amazing pediatrician and he took some more tests. The very next morning, he called me at 6:30am with devastating news that his blood counts were suspicious for leukemia. We went to the ER at Dell Children's that morning and met with an oncologist. He confirmed that Luke has AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia).  Please pray for our family and follow along our journey as Luke destroys these cancer cells!!
