Journal entry by Katie Keating

I just wanted to reach out and thank everyone for their fervent prayers over the last 3 weeks. What a whirlwind!

I can’t even begin to describe how quickly the turn of events have been. This time 3 weeks ago, Luke and I were headed to a routine appointment for a previous issue and there appeared to be nothing wrong; 6 hours later he was admitted to Bryn Mawr’s ER and shortly thereafter, transferred to CHOP. It’s been a whirlwind, but I am thrilled to report he is doing great, getting stronger every day and will attend his 8th grade graduation from Bala Cynwyd Middle School tomorrow.
The journey has been filled with so many blessings and love. I can honestly say, your prayers sustained us. There was definitely a period when he was critically ill and we felt so much grace, love, support and assurance during that time. I cannot properly express the tangible power of prayer that I felt during these past 3 weeks.

He is currently doing some rehab at CHOP, but he thinks he has a personal trainer and is approaching each day like an athlete in prep for the big season.

I/ we are forever grateful for your support and prayers. We pray for “All the people who prayed for us,” each night and continue to ask for your own blessings.

I came across this quote and wanted to share. I think it nails our own feelings regarding prayer when we are feeling most vulnerable...
“Our prayers might be awkward, our prayers might be feeble, but since the power of prayer is in the one who hears it, not the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.”  -Max Lucado
Again, words don’t even do our thoughts and feelings justice. I sincerely hope for a peaceful summer for all of you and your families. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

God bless,

Pierce, Katie, Luke and family
