Journal entry by Kate Harrison —
Today Luke is alone, because he needs to be. We have made a lot of progress since my last post, he has been able to use his right side, has gotten up for walks, and has also been gifted a hoodie as he was begging for a hoodie. Unfortunately, Luke is not his normal self when it comes to having control, making decisions, and being "with it" 100%. He is on a behavior action plan and if he is able to follow his set rules, he can have visitors tomorrow. His behaviors need to be re-learned. He has severe aggression issues and mood swings and is unable to score appropriately on any sort of cognitive function tests. As a family, we are pulling together to make sure Luke gets the best care possible and to advocate for his needs. We are hopeful he will be able to make great progress and recover to a point of independent living. As soon as guardianship is established, he can be moved to a brain rehab where he can learn coping skills.
We have started a go fund me page to assist with the expenses that have incurred and will continue to around Luke's care.
