Catherine and John, the Schads pray often for the Vellecos. I weep often over here in Germany. I weep because as your sister in Christ, I weep when you weep. I have faith that our great God has a plan in this huge loss here on earth. Know that we love you all very much. I read this passage in 1 Corinthians 15 this morning and may it encourage you as you seek to know God's will in all of this. Hugs, dear friend. Please give John Jr a hug from Mrs. Schad-my heart breaks with his.

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

You can count on my prayers for the Lord's wisdom and timing for Luca's memorial service -- and for the Lord to bring to your remembrance all His blessings and answered prayers throughout Luca's time with all his beloved family. Draw near to the Lord and lean into Him. May Jesus' compassion and love for you and Luca be tangible to you as you grieve his loss.

Thank you for trusting God despite many uncertainties: "fear not for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isa 41:10
