Journal entry by Jamie Gooch —
Louie is doing amazing! Over the last week louie has improved his ability to talk and has become the man we all know and love again! On Wednesday louie has what we hope is his final surgery to repair a crushed elbow and middle finger on the right arm. He is still receiving dialysis but it appears that his kidney function is improving. He will be in the hospital through the weekend but we are looking at a Monday transfer to rehab! He has been working hard with speech and physical therapy and has made tremendous progress. Tracey and I were able to tour his new rehab facility this past week as well as connect with the staff there. We are so pleased with this next step and so comfortable with our decision of where to send him. This week we were also given the amazing news that Louie’s health insurance was approved and his medical expenses are being covered. The cards and well wishes have been pouring in and we are all so thankful for the well wishes and caring words. Your prayers have made this journey possible for all of us.
