Loren’s Story

Site created on April 14, 2018

.Amazing how when it’s a one in a million chance of winning the lottery, you can’t do it but a one in a million chance of getting a rare type of cancer, you get that. Loren was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer called Thymus Carcinoma. This grows under the breastbone where white blood cells are made. It inhibits the ability to make white bloods cells to fight off infections. The tumor has attached itself to the outside of the right lung. Please keep my dad in your thoughts as he begins his battle with a very rare type of cancer and an autoimmune disorder.

wow, dad is finally done with treatments. It has been a long road and I know it is not over but, this is a great milestone. He will continue with the blood thinners for another 3 months and then revisit it at that time. He will have scans done in 6 weeks to check on things.  He was very excited to be done and the chemotherapy nurses wer all amazing and gave him a special send off. He got to ring the bell in honor of finishing treatments. I have to say “Thank You” to all of the nurses in both Radiation and Chemo.  They were all wonderful and made the journey just a little easier and less stressful for all of us.
