Loren’s Story

Site created on May 5, 2021

Hello Saints! We are thrown into the role of cancer bloggers as we document the miraculous healing journey Loren is on as he battles Non Hodgkins lymphoma. He's been diagnosed as Diffuse B cell cancer which is quite aggressive. May 5, 2021 (Cinco De Mayo we will always remember!) he was immediately admitted to CU Health after diagnosis to get this show on the road with chemo this afternoon! He will receive RCHOP chemo after they confirm with a scan that his brain and heart are ready for battle. The doctor is amazing and explains that this type of lymphoma IS MORE OFTEN THAN NOT CURED. While Loren is diagnosed as stage 4, we are prayerfully seeking the Lord's guidance and cure with his amazing doctors.

Merry Christmas Friends!!

I am so sorry it has been so long and we have not updated you all without wonderful news.  We met with Loren’s blood disorder cancer Doc on Dec 06, after having an MRI and PET scan Dec. 02.  We got to the Doctors appointment and Dr. H said “well I am sure you have already read the results of your tests to which I said “Yes - but we’d like to hear it straight from your lips”.  He replied - “Well Loren it would seem that you are in REMISSION!” Music to our years.

Loren and I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of your for every thought and prayer on his and my behalf.  Your prayers have been the eagles wings that have lifted us up and carried us - and we mean that so literally.  We are past his 100 days post stem cell transplant still being pretty careful as he has only had his first Covid vaccination. He will get his 2nd shot soon. We can honestly say that the boundary lines have fallen for us in very pleasant places.  We have learned to live a quieter life. Loren is still very fatigued - and his white and red blood cells along with his platelets are still very low, even though he is on medication to boost his numbers.  We wait on the Lord.

We look back on the last 9 months and think “what a ride”!
I recently read a poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning title: A Child’s Thought of God
The end of the poem says:
As if my tender mother laid
On my shut lids her kisses pressure,
Half waking me at night; and said,
“Who kissed you through the dark, dear guesser?”

Your prayers have supplied the kisses that half woke us at night, and as we get to the beginning of the end of this adventure with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma - we realize that there was ONE was kissed us through the dark.  Your prayers sent the Lord to our side and He walked palpably through this with us - I can only say that the hospital room became a sanctuary for us.  We are so privileged to have such beautiful, caring, loving, praying friends.  With you - heaven and earth was moved on our behalf.  We are so very very grateful for every tender act of mercy done and spoken on our behalf.

We love you so.
Hallelujah What A Savior!!!
