Journal entry by Bradley Ford

Good morning,

I just wanted to personally thank everyone that came to Eric's Memorial Service as well share a couple of announcements.  For those of you that could not attend please know it was an amazing time.  We know you were there in mind and well wishes.

If it were not for all of you to step forward to assist in the ways you have so far, this would have been really hard for them.  Karen and the kids felt and are still feeling the support as well as the love that everyone is pouring out for them during this time.  Please know the financial burdens of all of this are coming next.  It was amazing to see so much support in this area as well.  It will definitely soften the blow for them.  One thing I want to make sure I do here is to also get the word out that we have increased the goal on the go-fund-me account.  Most of the money that has already been raised will most likely be used up for medical and final wishes.  So we are asking for anyone and everyone to try to dig a little deeper if they can!

The reason for the increased ask is to see if we can help Karen additionally in the following areas;

1.        Eric was planning on upgrading their septic system to a mound system this year before the winter.  The system they have now is really old and is in need of repair.  It is something we would like to get done so they are not having to deal with pumping it out in the middle of the winter. We would love it if we could help eliminate this expense and worry.  It is not cheap and any additional support anyone can give to this would be greatly appreciated.  If you would like to know how much a system would cost just
Google, "Mound Septic systems."  They range depending on size.  My brother is trying to help research cost for them, based on there need, to see if we can get this started.

2. Winter is fast approaching, they use propane on the farm to cook, do laundry and to heat along with a wood-burning stove to keep warm.

            A.  Wood pellets for the stove.  They usually go through 100 bags in the winter which costs $5.44 for 1 / 50LB bag.  Hartje Lumber Inc. 608-985-7207 is the number for the lumber yard that Eric uses which is right down the road from the farm.  One could reach out directly to them if they wanted or we can ask for those who can to continue to contribute to the go-fund-me site.    It would cost a little over $500 to get them 2 /50 bag pallets of wood pellets delivered by the lumber yard to the farm.  You can call them directly or go to the go-fund-me site we have set up through this website and just let us know you want your donation to go towards this in the comments.

            B.  They have a 400-gallon propane tank that costs about $.89 per gallon to fill every time.  They usually fill it several times over the winter.  It can get really expensive with the harsh winters in LaValle.  Again additional support here would be greatly appreciated.

If you are wanting to continue to support the family over time, we have also set up an account called the Looye Family in LaValle, WI and you can go to any BMO Harris and have them look up the account and make a deposit directly into the account to bypass exchanging information over the internet.  Be sure to tell them the Looye Family in LaValle, WI.  They can do the rest for you.

If you would like you can also contact them by mail:
E4016 Section 11 Rd.
LaValle, WI 53941

Again, thank you, for your support as well your continued support!
