Journal entry by Lois Egan

Hello my friends!  I will begin the clinical trial tomorrow at Vanderbilt. It will require me to go there for 3 phases.  The first 2 will be 8 weeks each and is as follows:  I will have an infusion once every other week with lab work and a doctor visit that will take about 3 hours total.  The infusion is a different medication of immunotherapy that helps my body fight the cancer.  I will be given a medication that I will take orally once a day at home. This medication cuts off blood supply to the tumor.  After each phase they will do a CT Scan to compare with a baseline scan. If all is well there I will reduce visits to Vanderbilt to once a month (phase 3)*.

My doctor and her staff are very excited about this trail and say they already have people who have been on it for over two years.  We are hoping I will do well on this trial.  I’m in good spirits and feeling pretty well right now.  Love to all of you.

*I don’t know anymore details about what I call Phase 3.  I will keep you updated.
