Journal entry by Lois Losey

Family and Friends,
Well, I am less than 12 hours away from surgery (7:30 am Mountain Time), and my nerves have really started to kick in.  My first wish for this weekend came true when the Green Bay Packers advanced to the NFC Championship next weekend.  Now, I pray that my second wish (and Biggest) comes true tomorrow - That the doctors do not find that my Uterine cancer has spread, and all I will need is the surgery tomorrow.  My gynecological oncologist told us that there is an 80% cure rate for this type of cancer, so that is a reasonably good percentage, but nothing is ever guaranteed.  It is still amazing to me what a single word can do to your life (Cancer).  While I know that I can beat this, I still have that little nagging worry (OK BIG Worry) in the back of my head.
I did get to go out to dinner for my last meal at one of the best steakhouses in the Denver area with John, Jerry (my brother), and Diane.

I guess it is time to go and pack my bags for the hospital and try to get some rest before we leave at 4:30 am.  I have a feeling I will be playing on my tablet and watching TV all night.

Thanks to everyone for all of the encouragement and love.
I love you all!
