Lois’s Story

Site created on October 5, 2022

Welcome to our Caring Bridge website! We are using this site as a way to keep family and friends updated.

Lois was continuing her recovery from her major surgery on 10/4/2022, which resulted in her spending 6 weeks at a swing bed facility in River Falls, after her already 2 months spent inpatient at United Hospital. She was discharged from the swing bed facility on Christmas Eve to their home in Farmington with home health care. Mom was progressing well at home with building up her strength/stamina with home health and actually had been discharged from home health at the end of January.

In  the weeks leading up to her readmission to the hospital, Dad and I were having some concerns with her confusion, personality changes, lack of interest/withdrawal, sleeping a lot,  and mobility decline to name a few. We felt it was best for Mom to be seen by a doctor immediately, so we agreed it was best to call 911 to have her brought to the Emergency Room.

We appreciate all of your prayers, support, words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting!

Journal entry by Ashley Berg

With the Winter Weather Advisory headed our way, I wanted to let you know that we are still moving forward with Mom's services tomorrow. Unfortunately, we do not have a virtual viewing option available for those who have asked, but we totally understand that not everyone will be able to make it.

As a reminder, Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Friday, March 17, 2023, at The Church of St. Michael’s, 22120 Denmark Ave., Farmington, with a gathering of family and friends starting at 9:30 AM.

I've had some of you reach out to me directly for mine or my Dad's mailing address, so I will also post that information here as well:
