Little health update, but this time, it’s about Maddie!
Since getting the flu a couple weeks ago, Maddie had been having extreme abdominal pain lasting several hours every other night or so. She was following up with her primary doctor about something unrelated and mentioned the pain she had been having. Her doctor recommended an ultrasound to look at her gallbladder.
After an ultrasound two weeks ago and a consultation this past Friday with the amazing people at Far North Surgery (also the office that did my initial biopsy for lymphoma), Maddie underwent surgery to have her gallbladder removed (today, April 18th).
Her surgeon said everything went as planned. Due to the scarring and inflammation of her gallstone, they did have to lengthen the incision more than normal to get it out. This will cause a little more discomfort than the average patient. She is currently feeling tired and sore, but in overall good spirits at the prospect of no more sleepless nights in pain!
We kept this pretty low-key, but really appreciate all the support we’ve received so far, and the continued support through thoughts and prayers! She is so relieved to have this procedure now so she can be all healed up for wedding & photography season!
