Liz’s Story

Site created on April 25, 2019

Welcome to Liz's CaringBridge website. She is loved by so many, we wanted to create a website to organize everyone who wants to help.   We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement!

Liz is a vibrant mom, wife, sister, daughter, friend and loved by many.  Only 38 years old, she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer on April 24, 2019.

Pray: First and foremost, please pray.

Food: Liz and her boys are happy to eat anything you want to provide.  If she doesn't have to shop for it, think about it, make it or clean up after it, that would really help her.  If you want to send a frozen meal or meal service that they can eat later, that would be great too!   Or have some groceries delivered to her house!

Money: We are NOT starting a Go Fund Me page, since they take a percentage out of the funds.  Liz is no longer able to work, and the medical bills are already piling up.  If you want to help financially, please send her gift cards, or a check to her house.

Cards: Lots of uplifting cards can make all of the difference!

Other items she will need:  gift certificates for massages, for meals or ice cream.  Any household items, lip balm or chapstick, lots of bottled water, and winning lottery tickets! (Note from Stephanie: I gathered these ideas from various websites, as suggestions from other patients of things they needed or wanted.  Anything you think that Liz would need or want, please feel free to send to her. )

Newest Update

Journal entry by Elizabeth Crellin

Had my 24 chemo infusion of Enhertu today….wow can’t believe it! We are going to DC and Shenandoah for the boys spring break, returning to have chemo 25 the following day and I have my next pet ct scan April 12th. my oncologist gave me the option to have my scans before or after my trip in May with Chuck. I decided to have it before. I’m going to skip the following chemo which would have been right before our trip and resume chemo after. I like to say cancer is just part of my life not my whole life so by skipping one treatment or have extra time between treatments let’s me enjoy parts of my life. I got my exgeva bone strengthening shot today. I definitely needed it. Not sure if it’s the insomnia I’ve been experiencing or the shot with chemo or just general fatigue from treatment but I got a good nap while at treatment today, and another nap this afternoon when I got home. When you need to rest sometimes you just got to listen to your body. I hope it doesn’t keep me up later tonight. Just in case, if you have a show series or movie you like that I can watch on those nights I can’t sleep I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you to all my family and friends that came to my 5 year party. It really meant a lot to me and gave me an opportunity to thank everyone for the support and prayers I’ve received through my cancer journey. I wouldn’t have been able to be the positive and determined person I am without prayers, love, and God. People have asked and offered to help when I have rough days with treatment and my response is meals that I can warm up or freeze and prepare on those days where I’m tired and don’t feel like cooking or gift cards to places we can either can carry out or go to when I’m exhausted are greatly appreciated. If you’d like to email gift cards or mail gift cards my email is ecrellin80@gmail.com, my address is 1758 clough pike Batavia, OH 45103 or stop by with a meal it’s the blue house on clough with a circle driveway. I have treatment every three weeks and it’s usually a week later when I’m feeling the worst and the most exhausted so if you plan to bring food over feel free to text me. We like just about anything but for some reason raw veggies and salads do not agree with me and bbq is hard during this time. My kids like simple things.  I also love to get cards and mail with encouraging words. I got a lot of that in the beginning and cherish those when I have rough days. I kept every one in a binder and look back at them. If you ever want to join me for treatment it’s a couple hour day bc of labs, doctor visit, waiting on pharmacy, pre meds, and then infusion company is always appreciated. I occasionally take a nap but it’s nice having the company. I also go back for an hour the next day to get fluids. It helps with reducing nausea, and other side effects, and it’s nice to have company too. Thank you for taking the time to read my updates. Love you all!
