The Bell was Rung!
Today marks the end of the radiation treatment phase of my cancer journey. It was a day I have been anxiously waiting for…for the past six weeks.
Hard to believe this part began May 5.
Looking back…I am so Grateful for all of professionals who took care of me…my Radiation team was so Amazing…the most loving, caring group of women! They were always there to lift us up and cheer us on despite days we dreamed of being anywhere else but that Radiation room.
I feel incredibly blessed that I was able to be treated at the world-renowned MD Anderson, which was founded in 1942 by a generous gift from the Monroe Dunaway Anderson foundation.
My morning group of women in the radiation waiting room were from all over the United States. We shared cancer treatment stories and opinions, lifted each other up and cheered when “the Bell was Rung”!
My “babies”, Olivia and Caitlyn, both 28, inspired me in a big way…their laughter, their faith, their strength and determination to beat this beast. They are young women who will survive and thrive and tell their story for years to come!
MD Anderson provides us all Hope and the Expertise to put our cancers into Remission. Drs and Researchers are working hard to find a cure for cancer and preventing it from affecting so many.
My life is forever changed in such a positive way because of this cancer journey. God has never left my side through the storm!
Next steps are determining the best treatment options for remaining in remission, preparing for reconstruction surgery and getting on living a life cancer-free!
