Lisa’s Story

Site created on December 21, 2021

Welcome to Lisa’s CaringBridge website. We are using this little corner of the internet to keep family and friends updated on our journey. So grab a cup of tea (or a cup of  something healthy 😊), read our updates, then pray for our hard things and rejoice with us in the victories. Please leave a message of hope, we would love to hear from you.

And He [God] has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
-2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NASB)

Journal entry by Teri Anderson

When Lisa first asked me to write her CaringBridge page I gladly jumped at the opportunity to bless her in this little way. In the same spirit I am coming to you to be a blessing to her incredible family.

Frank and the kids would like to thank you all for supporting and loving on the Stutzman's through the past 2 1/2 years. Many of you have prayed for, shared financial gifts, opened your home, shared your fifth wheel, brought food, ran to Trader Joe's or Costco, taken kids to soccer or track practices, and been a listening ear, as you walked along this road with them. What a blessing you have all been. I shared with Lisa once what my mom taught me, if you don't allow people to bless you you are robbing them of a jewel in their crown in heaven! Lisa and Frank have this eternal perspective. When you stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ these blessings will not burn up but will bring pleasure and joy as we present them to our Savior! Thank you for allowing the yuck to bring GLORY and HONOR to God!!!

The last month of Lisa's life was very painful BUT she has smiled, loved and sought joy through it all. Lisa told me she went from 44 to an 80-year-old body in a short time. Her last week her body began to fail fast. She was in a large amount of pain and her body shut down quickly. When I visited, Lisa asked me to pray that her passing would be peaceful so not to cause more trauma to her family. God answered those prayers. On April 16, 2024 our beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend Lisa Marie stepped into her heavenly home, radiant and full of joy. Lisa was surrounded by her mother, Frank, and her children just as she wanted. She told me she was looking forward to feasting with her Savior! Praise Jesus she is whole and rejoicing today.

Lisa's sister told her she honored birth in a beautiful way and encouraged her to do the same in death. With this in mind, Lisa planned and organized a celebration where she told her family how much she loved them and gave them all gifts, her love language! It was important to her that they all knew she loved them. Lisa left a legacy of cultivating joy and thankfulness in her life and the lives of those around her. Lisa practiced thankfulness. She sought it out and challenged us to do the same. How else could she have so much joy in her struggles!?!

The family will have a Celebration of Life in memory of Lisa on May 18th at 3pm at Wi-Ne-Ma Christian Camp, Cloverdale, Oregon.

Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
