Lisa, I struggle with a low count also. Mine is caused by spherocytosis. The blood cells are oval instead of round and they are fragile and don’t last very long. Taking iron doesn’t help it. Don’t be discouraged if the iron doesn’t bring it up. Just push forward and make sure they start looking at other possibilities for the cause. Be strong and be your own advocate. You will get through and think back on this years from now and shake your head in wonder. God is an amazing teammate!
