Lisa’s Story

Site created on June 19, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  The author of this site is Julie Bleyenberg - friend and colleague.

In the blink of an eye, everything can change.

So, forgive often and love with all of your heart.

You never know when you may not have that chance again.

On the afternoon of Friday, June 15th, Lisa experienced an unexpected medical event while at work.  She suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and is currently in critical condition at Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA.  She underwent an emergency surgery to stop the hemorrhage which was successful.  Lisa has been in a medically induced coma since the surgery to reduce brain swelling from the trauma that has occurred.  She has been stable since then, with no new bleeding episodes.  She has not gotten any better, but more importantly, she hasn’t gotten any worse.

We will know more information on how Lisa is recovering once it is safe to reduce sedation. We will provide more news as it develops.
Please send healing thoughts and prayers for Lisa & Woody and their family. Woody will be providing updates as they occur and I will relay them on this page.

*** PLEASE NOTE
Lastly, many people have asked "how to help".  The best option at this point is monetary support.  Please see attached gofundme and venmo links, or apple pay, or good old fashioned cash.  Please avoid accidentally donating to the CaringBridge site as this is only a support for the website itself and does NOT go to the family.
