Dear Lisa,
There's not a day when I don't pray for your recovery from your operation, but I'm rather remiss about writing. I'm sure a cheerful letter will do you good. We've a lot to be cheerful about in Israel, having just celebrated Independence Day. When we look around our family and see from how many countries our antecedents and in-laws come from (Poland, Lithuania, Rumania, Morocco, Turkey, Yemen, Bulgaria, UK, Palestine [an old Hebron family], Iraq, and now a grandson is due to get married to a girl whose family is from Cochin, India), we really appreciate what a miracle the Ingathering has been in the past century or so; not less of a miracle has been that we are all mixing together. But once we achieve that, we have to make our society a model of morality and compassion. That's much harder, but you yourself did your bit when working for Save a Child's Heart; nothing is achieved overnight, there have to be many small steps. So, too, with your recovery, which we pray is proceeding.
Hilary joins in sending our love,
Yehoshua
