To Matt, Cooper, Claire, Jim, Charity, Adam, Katie, Emma, Sarah and entire Hanson/ Bitzer family.
My heart is so broken for you all, and I have needed time to gather what I wanted to share with you all. . What a lovely, lovely human Lisa was. I have had the privilege of knowing Lisa and her parents and Adam since Lisa was 5/6. Watched her grow up, go to school, she and my oldest daughter Alyssa were dear friends and roommates in College.
She was always so fun, loving, thoughtful and caring. And when she began her Cancer journey , she and I exchanged many notes and messages, as I am a cancer survivor.
She was sooooo incredibly brave, and soooo wanted to beat this horrible disease! She loved you Matt, incredibly! I was at your wedding and got to see how happy the 2 of you were. And oh my goodness how she loved being a mom to Cooper and Claire. She was simply an amazing young woman, daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. Her smile, her laugh, her energy that would light up the room.
How I wish I could offer words of comfort for you all. But know over her way to short life, she touched so many lives. More than you all may ever know, she definitely touched mine. She and I were blessed to share the same birthday, so I can and will forever celebrate her. I lift you all in my thoughts and prayers, now and in the days ahead. There are many of us out here, holding you all close to our hearts as you navigate this journey. Cling to Jesus, we may never understand why we had to loose Lisa this side of Heaven, but I pray that you all will allow Him to bring you peace and comfort. She was dearly loved and will be dearly missed.
Matt, Cooper, Claire, Charity, Jim, and all among Lisa’s family and friends, sorry for your loss. Lisa was an extraordinary woman and I was blessed to have experienced her kind gracious smile (including her soft bright smiling eyes) in every encounter with her. She was wise and quietly dynamic with a grateful sense of humor. Matt, you did well to quote Corinthians as an embodiment of her faith as well as yours. My family extends our prayers and condolences to you . May she rest in Eternal Peace, and may Christ’s Perpetual Joyful Light shine upon her. 🙏
Oh, Matt, my heart breaks for you, Cooper, and Claire. Lisa was a wise, beautiful, strong woman and will be missed by all who loved her. My deepest sympathy to you, the kids, and the entire family.
I am deeply saddened by your loss, and tears came flooding down reading your post. Lisa was one of my favorite people and although I am confused as to why prayers for her healing were not answered, I am rejoicing that she has a new body in heaven. You and your dear children are in my prayers that may you be filled with the peace of God every day. She lives on in your sweet children.
Lisa was a beautiful woman of God. I always enjoyed our conversations about Jesus and how she showed HIM in her daily walk. I will be praying for God to show HIS love and mercy in this time of sorrow. With love and prayers,
Dave and Jen Gaalswyk
Oh Matt, my heart is aching for you. Thank you so much for sharing this. It is beautiful. You and Lisa and the kiddos have gone through unimaginable loss. The enemy has done something evil and I am angry. It’s so unfair and heartbreaking. I’m praying that the same God who brought Lisa comfort and peace draws very near to you and your little ones and you feel His love. You’re so strong, you were her rock for 2 the worst years of her life. You’ll get through this💕
Sending my deepest sympathies to you and your kids during this difficult time. I have a lot of good memories with Lisa during our Maplewood Academy years together. What a loving person! She will be greatly missed by many!! Praying for all of you.
Those words mean so much Matt, because you knew Lisa best. Prayers will be continued to hold you up when you’re feeling down.
Love to you, Cooper and Claire
