Journal entry by Lisa Fosler —
Woohoooooo! Biopsy results came in quickly. We were told to expect a week, but they came in one day! I was super nervous going into the hospital at 5:30 AM yesterday, but I was confident with what would be found. I am officially CANCER FREE! Both samples came back NEGATIVE for carcinoma and my insides remain clear. This is amazing news. I was pretty confident after the CT scan showed no signs of cancer. My surgeon wanted the biopsies on the bumps that still remain. Just scar tissue. Yippee!
I can expect to have symptoms for a year - lack of control and urgency. But I can certainly deal with those side effects from radiation knowing that the cancer has gone. I just need to know where the closest bathroom is at all times. I will be getting checkups for the next 5 years. And if all goes well, I will not have a reoccurrence.
THANK YOU for all of your love and support! I have read every card mailed to me and read every e-mail and text sent. It takes a village!
Love, Lisa
