Lisa’s Story

Site created on May 18, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Starting in March, our friend Lisa struggled for several weeks with abdominal pain that radiated to her back, the pain was worse at night.  She contacted her physician who unfortunately misdiagnosed the condition which meant the pain continued.  Finally, at Brian’s insistence, they ordered an ultrasound and specific blood tests consistent with a gallbladder issue.  The results were as suspected there were many gall stones, including in the bile duct therefore surgery was required.  Two endoscopys and laparoscopy to remove the gallbladder.  After surgery, the doctors were “not happy” with the bloodwork and the results were gallbladder cancer.  After contacting a surgical team at Moffitt and an oncologist here, the decision is to start with very strong chemotherapy.

To know Lisa is to LOVE Lisa!!!!   She is the most thoughtful, caring and fun person probably any of us have ever known.  If any of us needed anything, you know she would be the first one ready to pitch in and help.  Her smile, laughter,  self deprecating humor, perfectly coifed hair and makeup are all the things that make us love her.   Now is the time we want to become Lisa’s support system, if we can just keep all of our thoughts and prayers focused on her during her fight, I know it will help!    She knows there will be some tough days ahead so this site will keep us updated with her treatments along with the ability to send messages to her.

Hi Everyone:

When we lose someone we love we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind.

It is with great sadness that we will be ending Lisa’s story on Caring Bridge shortly so this will be my last post.😢

It has been such a pleasure keeping you informed when Lisa couldn’t. I feel as if I became close to you all through Lisa. She was an amazing sister with a heart of gold, was kind, generous, caring and full of life and love.🥰

I can’t begin to thank each and everyone of you for being there when Lisa needed you the most. I will forever be grateful for all your love, support, prayers, well wishes, etc. that gave Lisa the strength and hope to continue on.

There are no goodbyes for us and Lisa will always remain in our hearts.❤️❤️❤️
Thank you again and I wish you all a Happy Easter and a Happy Passover.🌹
