Lindsey’s Story

Site created on December 4, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

I have been down this road before and I can do it again.

Three years ago, I found out that I had a tumor on my ovary.  This whopper grew to be 44 pounds before it was removed right before New Years in 2017.   The tumor ended up being malignant - a rare kind of mucinous ovarian cancer.  I successfully completed chemo, like a champ.  I was cancer free for 3 years and things were going well.  Unfortunately, I have received news that there is a new tumor in the incision where doctor's removed the ovarian cancer.

I have a long road ahead of me on my way back to remission.  I know I have a lot of friends and family praying for me.  I want to use this site to keep everyone up to date on what is going on.

Thank you for your support!

Journal entry by Lindsey Carpenter

I’m sure most of you have heard that we lost Lindsey on July 17,2020. I miss her desperately but I know she is no longer in pain or suffering. She is in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. I often ask why she had to
be taken and I may never know the answer to that question. The world lost a dynamic person that day. She was such a champion for mental health and it reflected in her job and care of her patients. She always had a smile on her face even though she could give a side eye and eye roll better than most. I go through each day and it’s hard not to see her in everything around me. I’m going to miss her enthusiasm about Carolina, hiking and     the shooting range but most of all, I’m going to miss her love and care of her family. She’ll always be remembered in my heart.
