Linda’s Story

Site created on December 3, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  My journey began in 2011 when a tiny bit of squamous cell carcinoma was found after undergoing a hemorroidectomy.  It happened again in 2014 - same surgery.  In 2017, a biopsy performed during a routine colonoscopy revealed a more invasive form of the same cancer.  Six weeks of radiation and two rounds of chermotherapy followed.  A routine follow-up CT scan revealed additional spread of the cancer in the fall of 2019.  Major surgery followed but this stubborn strain just wouldn't go away.  It spread to my liver.  After 9 rounds of chemotherapy and 4 rounds of immunotherapy, we are accepting that this cancer might just win.  It's been a hell of a fight.
