Linda’s Story

Site created on December 6, 2019

Thank you all for your amazing support and encouragement as I continue the battle with ovarian cancer!  I have been overwhelmed with the community’s generosity and kindness.  Thank YOU!

After three rounds of chemotherapy,  the good news is that the doctor has confirmed my tumors have decreased in size and are small enough to operate!   Yeh!!

My surgery is on Friday 12/20/2019 and I should be in the hospital 4-5 days.   After surgery I will have 3 more 3 week apart chemo treatments.  Following those treatments, a decision will be made on continuing  chemo.

I feel so blessed to have your support.  Sending all my love! Linda

Newest Update

Journal entry by Matt Kozlowski

Hello there!

Sorry, it has been ages since the last update.  This is primarily due to the fact that things have gone so well.  At the time of this update, our Gladiator has completed the gauntlet of chemotherapy!  This last week the doctors decided to take a look-see inside her body to determine what developments there had been after surgery and post-chemotherapy.   The answer:  Linda had NO CANCER in her abdomen!  I wish it could be said that she’s 100% cancer free, however such a proclamation is not possible because a set of lymph nodes that had been afflicted were either not imaged or their current status omitted from the radiological report.  Nonetheless, it appears miracles can & do happen, even to those loved ones in our inner circles.   Thank God for modern medicine; not too long ago this simply would not have been possible.

The road ahead:  maintenance infusions (more, but far less aggressive chemotherapy) every three weeks with regular blood tests to check for cancer markers.   The second best news is that our Gladiator now gets her hair back 😄😀
