Journal entry by Linda Christofferson

One year ago today I had my last chemo treatment (Taxol)
Looking back, chemo was pretty awful but not near as bad as it could have been.  I had exhaustion, hair loss, neuropathy, serious bone pain.
After my surgery, I've had some lymphedema because they removed one lymph node.
I've regained much of my energy since finishing treatment but some other symptoms remain.  I did some physical therapy for the neuropathy and lymphedema and I gained some relief but not too much.  I started acupuncture and that is giving me more relief for the neuropathy.  I do some massage and therapy (stretches) for the lymphedema but that is something that I will likely have for lifetime..
I had very little side effects from radiation.  I didn't really burn much, I was pretty tired. Although I worked through that treatment I ended up taking four days off at the end.
Overall, I feel much better and I don't feel like cancer has taken over my life.  Knowing that it's all in God's hands keeps me level.
