Linda’s Story

Site created on May 26, 2020

As many of you know Linda was diagnosed with esophageal cancer caused by acid reflux.  The doctors believe they caught it early as they discovered it during an endoscopy for an unrelated matter. CT scans show that there is, as of now, no spread. On May 26 at 7:30am at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, TX, Linda will have a procedure to remove her entire esophagus and create a new one out of part of her stomach.  This seems like a radical response, but the doctors have told us this is an aggressive cancer, and this will ensure it will not return.  We know that the Lord is in crontrol of all things including this surgery and recovery.  We ask you would join us in praying to the Great Physician to restore health and life to Linda through this surgery. Pray for wisdom and skill for the doctors and nurses. Pray for no complications during the recovery process. Also be in prayer for her husband Richard, her children Mark, Christina, and Ben, as well as their families.

Our intention is to update this site as often as we can, but please be patient.

Journal entry by Christina Mabry

Mom has had a set back over the last 3-4 days. She has been extremely nauseated. She has been unable to eat or drink  without throwing up and is only getting Gatorade through a J tube. She met with her doctor this morning who sent her to the ER for a swallow test to make sure there are no rips leaks or blockages causing the nausea. She also needs some IV hydration. She needs your prayers right now because she is worried about catching Corona Virus at the ER but also is worried that she would not endure further surgery well. Thank you everyone -Chrissy
