Lillian was visited today by nurse practitioner Debbie and two M.D. residents. Lillian does not need hospice care yet, nor does she need 24/7 coverage by a healthcare aid, which was a big relief to her.
Lillian will have a PET scan to determine whether she does indeed have cancer -- which looks likely -- and if it has spread. Once we have a clearer diagnosis, we will have a better idea of her prognosis. In addition, after the PET scan, Lillian will be seeing a pulmonologist.
The cough medicine she is taking is remarkable, and has quelled her cough significantly. She did have a cold and pneumonia, which she has healed from.
When I left her this morning, she was in much better spirits. She can drink alcohol, which made her chuckle, and is planning to have her hair colored and nails done, all of which are great signs.
