Charmaine’s Story

Site created on October 10, 2018

Hi Family and Friends,

Thank you for visiting my Caring Bridge page. As many of my close family and friends already know, I was diagnosed with liposarcoma cancer last week in my right leg. While this is truly somber news, the cancer appears to be operable.  Biopsy of lymph nodes came back negative. No other cancer.

I want you all to know that this is just a small bump in the road. I will fight and defeat this cancer! Please keep my family and I in your prayers.

Love,
Charmaine

Journal entry by Charmaine Peterson

Due to the holidays I didnt have very many sessions over the last few weeks. But the end is coming near with only 9 more sessions left!!!! Yayyyyyyyy I am so excited to be done with this. After I complete radiation, as long as everything looks good, the next step is a follow up pet/ct scan and then the waiting game begins. Fingers crossed everything goes well and then I have surgery and become CANCER FREE!
I did meet with a oncology genetic counselor and did some blood work to check to see if the type of cancer I have is hereditary or if it was a gene mutation (thanks mom and dad) 😂😂  once I get those results back I will update everyone.
