Journal entry by Carey Martini

My disease description left off a huge caveat. It should have started with WARNING: DO NOT READ THINGS ON INTERNET REGARDING DISEASE. Wow! What a dismal outlook on things! I don't plan on letting them guide my choices in this new way of living, but you can't unread what you have already read.

Having said that, it seems almost ironic that I just launched my new support group for MCTD on Facebook. I had 5 members on my first day and I am hoping to be able to provide a sounding board to even more members! I was persecuted for my last journal entry posted here in another Facebook group. I had copied my entry and posted it in a group that I was a part of. A large dispute erupted over the way one member accosted me and many followed suit tearing me down at my weakness and "cry baby" thoughts. That was NOT the place for me. I am a strong person, but I thought it was a safe place for me to let down my wall and express my inside voice. I was wrong. I am excited about my new journey!

I have work to do so I am off for now. Thank you for reading this!

Love,
Carey
