Libby’s Story

Site created on October 25, 2018

Libby was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the lung after coming down with a persistent cough.  The cough began in July and progressed to shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, ultimately landing her in the hospital with no answers. None of the physicians suspected cancer, testing led them to believe it was pneumonia.  Round after round of steroids and antibiotics failed and finally a biopsy of suspicious spots was done. The news none of us ever dreamed of came on October 18th; our beautiful Libby has cancer.

Journal entry by Heather Niccum

Hi everyone,

We will say our final goodbyes to the coolest chick who ever graced our lives on January 28, 2022 in Grand Rapids at the Timberlake Lodge beginning at 4pm. Please come and celebrate her with us if you are able.
She fought until the end, being the positive and vibrant woman she was. Thank you for loving her, praying for her, and following her battle journal on here. This is the final entry.

Take care,

Heather
