Journal entry by Meredith Lewis —
Hi everyone!
Today marks 4 months since my cardiac arrest, and I wanted to give a quick update in what hopefully will be my last post to this site. I've been gaining strength and a sense of normalcy over the past few months, and this morning I ran one mile on the treadmill during my cardiac rehab session, my first attempt at real running since I went down last November! My heart maintained a normal rhythm throughout, which hopefully means I can begin to do a little more running, cardio, and all the things I was worried I wouldn't be able to do. The best part is I feel stronger and more energetic and am looking to head back to work to rejoin my LINC team in April.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to reach out and cheer me on. You have been so important to my recovery and I am humbled and appreciative of your love and care. Looking forward to more baby steps and milestones in the months to come, which hopefully will just look like normal social media posts from here on out! Sending love and gratitude to you all! :)
