Journal entry by Leona Waiwaiku —
Few weeks ago my heart sunk when my beautiful sister, ‘Kpai-lady’ told me she had been diagnosed with cancer. Tears of fear and sorrow flowed down my cheeks. I questioned God and asked Him questions. In the last few years we have lost our mother and two brothers. Our mother, Medea, was a very strong Christian, and so I was beginning to ask God WHY?
I am however reminded of the Bible story of Job and a song we sang while we were in boarding school which says: No matter what the problem, I lift my hands up high and say 'Hallelujah any how' Sometimes we are tested beyond expectations, but like Job, trusting in Jesus as our Saviour and healer, 'we raise our hands up high and say: ‘Hallelujah’. God is great and He has promised to 'make it all right'.
Kpai, we are on the battlefield. Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is the healer.
