Journal entry by Kellie Boury —
The first thing Len did when we got home was to hose out the A/C unit. I resisted the urge to walk right behind him, hanging onto his shirt. He was so relieved to be home.
I am not mentioning the kids too much for a reason. A mother's instinct is to protect her young and keep bad things away from them. Not possible. Their experience is their story to tell. They have stepped up with grace and courage. They are amazing.
We all promised Len that any decisions he made about treatment would be respected and supported by all of us. He spent some time considering his options and informing friends when he felt it was appropriate.
