Lee’s Story

Site created on November 21, 2020

My dad has been in the hospital since Friday, 11/20/20, diagnosed as failing to thrive, with possible malignant issues causing a multitude of symptoms. He is 83, a two-time cancer survivor, and living with COPD.

My dad is a private person and I have a disdain for social media; nonetheless, I am reaching outside my comfort zone, sharing on this platform, to keep our family and friends updated in one place. Though I no longer have small children, I am constantly looking for teachable moments to arm Lauren, Ally, and Matt with the skills they will need to get through life. I don’t wish to take away life’s challenges for them, but I do wish to fill their proverbial toolbox with as many tools as I can to help them grow and thrive so they are equipped to handle these tests I believe we’re given every single day. To that end, I challenge myself, in this personally unchartered territory, to share my thoughts. I feel vulnerable and uncomfortable, but I suppose that means there is much room for growth. I do hope my efforts will be met with only love, light, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you.
