Lee’s Story

Site created on January 2, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Lee has been suffering for years with heart failure and was recently told there was no more effective treatment.  His quality of life had deteriorated to the point he was sleeping most of the time and eating very little.  Recently, he made the decision to go on hospice.  He is hoping to be as comfortable as possible with the best quality of life he can maintain.  He has moved to a hospice facility called Hilledbrandt House which is located at 2652 Ridgeway Avenue.  It is a lovely facility with just 11 beds and a homey environment.  He is accepting short visits and enjoys the interaction. He is often sleeping but does very much appreciate seeing friends and family. This website will be updated as often as possible and please spread the word to others who might be interested.  As always, we appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Julie Howe

Tonight Lee was sleeping peacefully when he took his last breath.  David and Cindy were with him as have been many family members over the past few days.  It was a long journey for Lee but he is at peace now.
