Journal entry by Amy Budin —
I'm in the the middle of an especially difficult time. First the Yahrzeit (anniversary of death on the Hebrew calendar), October 17th, then the regular calendar anniversary, October 27th, Thanksgiving, and Lee's birthday on November 21st. Hopefully, the unveiling of Lee's headstone last weekend in Columbus will help by giving some small closure, eclipsing previous cemetery memories with better ones. Special thanks to Rabbi Berman for speaking so eloquently at the brief gathering. His words rang so true and it was so obvious that he truly knew Lee. In honor of Lee's upcoming birthday I am challenging you all to pay tribute to him by an act of charity to which Lee was very dedicated- blood donation. Lee's last donation was convalescent COVID-19 antibody donation just weeks prior to his diagnosis. By my calculations the blood banks are short the 18 donations that Lee would have made not to mention the years of future giving. If donating blood is not an option for you please consider a donation to Lee's endowment at Driscoll Childrens' Hospital thru a new direct link: https://donate.driscollchildrens.org/fundraiser/4816010 or to the charity of your choice.
I am grateful to all of you who are keeping the memory of Lee alive in your hearts and for the love and support given to me and my family over the past few years. Wishing you all a very happy and HEALTHY Thanksgiving holiday.
Thankful for the love and people in my life,
Amy
A $25 donation powers a page like Lee's for two weeks.
If you donate by May 12, your gift will be doubled, up to $10,000, thanks to a gift from Living Water Foundation.
