Life is full of choices. We all face them daily. Some are obvious, others- not so much. Choosing Faith in God through Jesus Christ first before anything else has marked my life and my story.
Choosing Faith rarely looks logical, sounds sensible, or feels comfortable but this one choice has provided me firm footing my entire life.
The Shepherd Psalm of David, the “sweet singer of Israel,” says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

https://www.bible.com/59/psa.23.1-4.esvThe Lord is my Shepherd. His Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. I can point to a time and place where I acknowledged Christ publicly as my Lord and Savior, but He has always been present with me.
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,”
Ephesians 1:3-5 ESV
https://www.bible.com/59/eph.1.3-5.esvPlease don’t get tripped up by “predestined.” Focus with me on “adoption to Himself.” Eternal God has sight beyond time and eternity to know every choice, but this does not mean we are not free to decide for ourselves. I am free to choose and so are you. Today and every day, I am choosing faith.
