Hi folks, It has been awhile but thought I would update you all on Mother Lovy!
Forrest (Bud) & I drove to Minnesota for mom's 95th birthday on July 24th. It was a odd celebration with the virus & restrictions on visiting, etc. The Legacy of Delano has opened up to tent outdoor visits & window visits. We were able to see her for 3 visits. 2 thru a screen/window & 1 on the outdoor patio. Only 2 people are allowed to visit at a time each day.
Her birthday was a success! Mom had many photos displayed on a table for the staff to see. Sister Michele and brother in law Rick brought 2 cakes. One for the staff and a small one for mom & the 4 of us. We got special approval for 4, just for her big day. We brought balloons and her old neighbors brought her beautiful roses. Her old Hutchinson neighbors, the Matheny's got to sneak in for a quick screen visit & surprise her. Sister Renae and brother in law Andy visited with the Duo/Phone app. Her hospice CNA Mary was able to be in on the party along with the Legacy staff. Many had sent cards, gifts and greetings including zoom calls earlier in the week. She was worn out for a few days after the party and the many visits but is now doing well especially after finally getting her hair done!!! She is still mourning the loss of her dear cat Tilly who went to heaven early this summer. She was so dear to mom and a great companion. Thank you to all who sent greetings and condolences.
