Laurie’s Story

Site created on December 2, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

A few months ago, Laurie started experiencing shortness of breath which impacted many of the things she loves...watching her grandchildren play sports and ride horses, playing golf with her roommate and friends, and spending time with family and friends. Many doctor visits and medical tests later, Laurie was diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a chronic lung disease that causes the lungs to be covered in scar tissue. In the past few weeks she has spent time between treatment at Bethesda North and rehab at Florentine Gardens Transitional Care and Rehabilitation facility. After Laurie's most recent stay at Bethesda North, she decided to move to Meadowbrook Care Center in Montgomery (8211 Weller Road) for the next phase of her care. Although Laurie tires quickly, she is happy to see the smiling faces of her friends and family. We encourage you to stop by for a short visit. She is in room A24.

Your support means the world to Laurie and her family. Please spread the word about this site and leave your "well wishes" so Laurie can feel the love!
