Laurie, you are a very good writer! Please keep surprising us.
On Thursday I took my mother who is also battling non-Hodgkin lymphoma, but different kind for a check up. There was a conversation about the CAR-T trial in the waiting room. Overall very positive results. People feel much better after the treatment and even some of them went to Italy.
Fabulous List, Peanut! 😘. I hope you look at it often...and change entries of gratitude as they come up. That mindset of “gratitude” is a powerful tool to go through life and each battle with!!! I love you, my badass warrior Sista!!! 😁💋😁
Fabulous! Love it! With that list, you have everything going for you. BTW, I just had breakfast with my older sister and she has a friend who is now doing CAR-T at UCLA for her chronic lymphatic leukemia. Small world.
No I didn’t know that, how awful. But I was reflecting on the fact that my car-t cells are being modified with the deactivated AIDS virus, how ironic is that? Since the genes that cause HIV have been turned off, I am not at risk of getting HIV but the hyperactivity of the remaining properties of HIV turns my T cells in to lunatic aggressive badass cells that will destroy my cancer. Hope to see you soon for a coffee in the 90210 zip.
I don't know if I ever mentioned this to you. In the 80's when I worked for Gensler 6 of my associates passed away from AIDs all within a few years of each other. They were strong, caring, decent people that didn't deserve to die so young. AID's treatments have advanced now and they would all probably be alive had they contracted it now. Anyhow, you're living in a good time with great care and medicines. We're all thankful for that! Have a great weekend and stay strong.
