Thanks for the thoughts, Paula. I am in awe of these medical researchers but someone besides researchers should be more in charge of the patient experience. Case in point - all of my procedures are taking place at the main UCLA campus (much closer to our new home than the smaller Santa Monica’s facilities I used to go to) where there is a very large main hospital plus a medical center w three large medical buildings. Wouldn’t you think each facility would have its own lab for processing bloodwork? Nope, there is just one lab at the main hospital which means hours long waits. They may have mds and phds, but that doesn’t mean they have common sense. If I weren’t so beat up and worn out, I’d go back to work and try to make things better. Another little annoyance, the infusion center I go to has about 20 recliners and one bathroom. And whoever designed the bathroom put a high threshold to get in the bathroom. Every time I use it, I struggle to get my iv pole over it without knocking it over. Well, I just have to laugh, that’s all I can do! Xxx
