Lauren’s Story

Site created on March 1, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Friday February 28, 2020 my father was tending to a small fire in our back yard burning branches and, cardboard boxes. Unfortunately during this time an old gas can that had been sitting in our yard for quite some time, blew up and my dad was caught on fire. My mom, brother, and several neighbors heard the explosion and ran to aid my father in his time of need, even praying over him. He was then transported to UF Shands in Gainesville, where he is currently in their burn unit in critical condition. He has 3rd degree burns on 50% of his body, damage to his lungs, and will have a long and difficult road to recovery.
