Latest updates:
I still go to clinic once weekly, usually on Thursdays. The main concerns lately have been low platelets/WBC/ANC/Hemoglobin/Hematocrit. I've been told that being on cellcept for awhile can cause this, so the medical team decided to lower my dose a little while back. We are hoping this will start helping soon. In the meantime, I still have to get blood transfusions and other supportive care to help boost those numbers. Also, I've still been having almost daily nausea (with weight loss and no appetite). I had another EGD (scope) done last week that showed I have mild gastritis but the biopsies were not positive for active GVHD. However, due to my GVHD-like symptoms I was restarted on oral solumedrol (steroid) which fortunately has really helped. Unfortunately, though, I am having all of those unwanted side effects - insomnia, irritability, high blood sugars, and moon face. Oh joy! :)
On the bright side, I've had more energy than usual this week (maybe the steroids haha) and have been really active. I'm looking forward to enjoying the cooler weather coming soon!
