Journal entry by Laura Suszkiewicz

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a great summer.

I am sorry it took so long to post.  I am happy to say that I am done with radiation 🤗🤗. I actually finished 6 weeks of treatment.  It ended in June and I am feeling a lot better now.  Some people have no problem with radiation but everyone is different and length of treatments are different.  I was in a lot of pain by the time we were done.  My skin was falling off and leaving open sores.  Also, the nurses think I might have a torn rotator cuff.  I have had pain in my shoulder and my arm for about a year and having my arms above my head for radiation was really hard and painful.  Glad that is done.

I am still having chemo.  I am scheduled for 14 treatments for now which will end in January.(hopefully).  Still many appointments. Overall, I do feel better.  I do still rest, which will be a new norm for many years.  I am on medication that I will take for at least 5 years for the cancer.  Of course all my treatments and medications have the same side effects as my Lupus.  Aches, joint pain and being tired alot are some of the effects.

Glad to have a great support system.  I hope everyone is doing well😃. Look…I have hair😂
