Prayers to You Laura…you're a trooper.. Ive had a rough go lately but not like yours. Liver problems?…mine turned out to be hemochromatosis,an excess iron overload, common with northern european descent. almost all in our family that have chiari, eds also have hemochomatosis. The tx is donating blood essentially to de-iron your blood. they need to take specific iron blood tests to see if you're over the acceptable limit, but there is also a gene test that can be done to confirm the presence of HH.Ill pray for you that this tx works. Keep the chin straight forward,haha..lv you Kathy
If your case isn't written up in a dozen medical journals by now, I'd be shocked. You have to be one of the most challenging cases in the modern era of medicine. Lesser spirits would have faded long ago but you are here to teach everyone you encounter what strength and perseverance looks like. It looks like a beautiful, bright eyed beauty who never gives up and stays completely integrated in her own care.
You need to write a book. I can see you doing a TED talk when you are whole and healed. You have much to teach all of us.
With great admiration and affection, I await hearing the positive results of this new treatment.
Laura, you have accumulated an extraordinary vocabulary, like alphabet soup. How may medical terms have you memorized? Have you set the Guinness book of world records yet for # of diagnosis? LOL Somewhere these past few years I missed the Ehlers Danlos diagnosis. If they ever get your head sown back together you can start teaching the med students! And Tuesday happens to be the feast day of Our Lady of Sorrows, the 7 Sorrows of Mary. She is with you every step of the way. Keep hold of her hand :)
Thank you, Laura, for the update. This does indeed seem hopeful. Very hopeful. I am thinking of a psalm refrain I learned in the summer which I've been singing to myself. "See, I am doing something new. I believe; help my unbelief."
