Journal entry by Laura Johnson —
Tomorrow is The Big Day!! We have been referring to it as the Big Knife Fight where my sister is donating her kidney, "Queen" is her name, to me.
God Save The Queen!!
I am currently living with Stage 5 Renal Failure and thankfully am not on dialysis. I was very lucky to have a sister who turned out to be a perfect match. We are undergoing transplant surgery tomorrow morning at Tufts Medical Center.
I am creating this account to update folks on our progress and set up a meal train for the kids while I am in the hospital.
We are lucky to be surrounded by so many people who love and care for us. We are feeling all that love and prayers and it is giving us so much strength.
