Larry’s Story

Site created on July 7, 2018

Welcome to Larry's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On July 5, 2018 Larry was hit by a pickup truck while riding his motorcycle in Sutter Creek. He suffered severe trauma to his lower extremities including fractures to his leg, hip, and ribs. He was airlifted to the hospital where he underwent 6 hours of emergency surgery. He has multiple more surgeries to go before he is stable and can commence his path to recovery.

Journal entry by Dave Thoeny

Larry is home now and receiving in-home health care for his ongoing recovery. He's very happy to get out of the hospital and back to his element where he's surrounded by family (and dogs). He is still fighting to keep his leg, and the doctors say it's undetermined how that will play out. After 5 months of pain and frustration, Larry's spirits are up and down. Please don't hesitate to call or text him. It really lifts him up.
