Journal entry by Gabrielle Hassan —
Today Larry woke up at 6 am looking forward to smoking one, of the two cigarettes Judy allows him enjoy. Following the his morning cigarette, Larry was unable to lift himself from the chair. The oncologist had just performed his second round of chemo a little over a week ago and Larry had been feeling some pretty harsh symptoms from it. In addition, he has been combating low platelet counts. He went twice that week to get fluids to try to bring those counts up.
Judy decided to call the paramedics. After many comments: “no, I’m not going to hospital,” Judy, Amy and Carolyn finally convinced him it needed to happen.
Many tests were performed on Larry and he was admitted to Chesapeake Regional Medical Center for further observation.
