I know all too well how losing someone leaves a hole in our lives. There will be a dad's-sized whole in your life for a long time to come. My heart goes out to all of you . A close friend once said to me, "We never fully recover from the pain of losing someone. And yet, we don't want to because on some level that pain reminds us of how much we loved that person." Aym, your dad was an extraordinarily generous and kind and thoughtful and brilliant individual who touched the lives of all us. I remember his joy at seeing a Hammond's flycatcher at our cabin in CO and in discussing in depth why we thought "Hammond's" rather than "Dusky".
