Larry’s Story

Site created on September 30, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you For visiting.

Larry  had a hemorrhagic stroke on Friday afternoon 9/27 and was immediately taken to the hospital.  He was put on a ventilator to secure his airway and put in  a medically induced coma to help bring his blood pressure down.  Also the coma was to help with some agitation he was having. He was taken to the ICU to be monitored and the doctors indicated the next 72 hours are critical.  He continues to stay comfortable but they are monitoring his blood pressure to be sure he doesn’t have any spikes and keeping him sedated to insure this.

We are setting up this site in order to provide our friends with the latest updates on his condition. Although we would like to take all your calls, it just isn’t possible. Visitors are now limited to family.  We appreciate you understanding our family’s need to have  time alone with him.

Monday 9/30: he remains in the ICU , mildly sedated and on a ventilator. Opened his eyes slightly. Not sure if he recognized anyone. They are hoping to wean him from the sedation and ventilator soon, but his blood pressure has been very hard to manage. He is receiving excellent care. Dr. Katzman will return on Tuesday and we will then receive the next update.
